What is the Random NPC Generator?

This free random NPC generator gives you an instant D&D character when the party talks to someone you didn’t plan for. Tap a suggestion or write three words, and in about 30 seconds you get a portrait, name, race and role, a personality with trait, ideal, bond and flaw, a quest hook, roleplay quotes and a 5e stat line. Random NPC tips for the table

Every DM knows the moment: the party ignores the quest giver and asks the stable hand about her life. A random NPC generator lets you say “yes, and” instead of “um”.

Give it whatever you have — “stable hand, nervous, knows something” — and it fills in the rest. If you have nothing, tap a suggestion.

Keep the ones your players like. Saved to a free LoreKeeper world, today’s random NPC becomes next month’s recurring character.

Give them a place on the map

The free map generator draws their tavern, town or keep, and a free account lets you pin them to it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I improvise an NPC in D&D?

Pick one look, one want and one voice. If you need it faster, generate one: the result gives you a name, a personality and a hook in about 30 seconds.

What stats should a random NPC have?

Most everyday NPCs use the Commoner stat block (CR 0, 4 hit points). If they might fight, pick an SRD stat block close to their job, such as Guard, Thug or Scout.

Can I generate several NPCs quickly?

Yes. Forge again for a new character, or change one word in your prompt to steer the result. Your recent creations stay in the rail below the generator.

Can I keep random NPCs for later?

Save them to a free LoreKeeper world and they stay with their portrait, sheet and backstory, ready to chat with when the party comes back.

Is the random NPC generator free?

Yes. No account is needed for a small daily allowance. A free account lets you keep going.
