Vorulith
Chronal Drake
Vorulith is a draconic relic of fractured time: it slips in and out of moments like a fish through currents, leaving lingering echoes of its presence — duplicated footprints, half-heard cries, and clocks that tick backward. It is terrifying because it can unmake the tempo of a fight, delaying strikes or accelerating its own movements so foes are cut down by blows that arrive before they see them. To encounter a Vorulith is to feel the world judder and lose its forward certainty for a heartbeat.

Multiattack. The Vorulith makes two Claw attacks.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8+2) slashing damage.
Temporal Rift (Recharge 5-6). The Vorulith exhales a jagged cone of warped time in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 12 Intelligence saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On a failed save, a creature's speed is halved until the end of its next turn as its personal time stutters; on a successful save, it is not slowed.
Time Slip. When a creature the Vorulith can see makes an attack roll against it, the Vorulith can use its reaction to impose disadvantage on that attack roll as time around the incoming strike blurs.
Scholars disagree whether Voruliths are a deliberate creation of an ancient cabal of chronomancers known as the Meridian Conclave or the evolutionary apex of dragons exposed for millennia to time-warped rifts. The Conclave's ruin, the Sundial Vault, still contains faded diagrams that pair Vorulith imagery with arcane charts; some texts name a single progenitor dragon as the 'Clockwarden' whose bloodline carries an eccentric affinity with temporal flux. Voruliths make lairs near thin places in time: collapsed watchtowers that record impossible hours, sinkholes where seasons stack atop one another, and cavernous fracture-sites that pulse with old magic. They are solitary and territorial, hunting creatures whose migratory patterns create predictable time-echoes. Merchants and smugglers have traded stories of caravans delayed for a week by a single Vorulith's passage; the caravan arrived with two sets of wagons and with drivers who claimed to remember different versions of the same town. The archivist Miren of Galt's Archive keeps a ledger of verified Vorulith sightings and warns that entire villages have been erased from local memory after prolonged exposure.
Vorulith retains classic draconic outlines — lithe sinuous body, four limbs, and a long tail — but every scale seems engraved with the faint hairline of hour marks and runes that shimmer when viewed from different angles. Its head is narrow, with twin pale eyes like polished brass clockfaces; thin filaments of silver hair run along its jaw like winding springs. Membranous wings are stamped with concentric rings that appear to pulse; occasionally the inner wing membrane will display a fluttering scene — a winter snowfall, a market at noon — that lasts only a second. Scars along its flanks show seams where time itself seems to have been stitched: small rifts gape open briefly, revealing flickers of different skies. At rest it coils atop a pile of broken sundials, shattered pocket watches, and warped hourglasses; the metal catches light in strange, off-phase flashes.
