Khaelthos Urnith
World-Sunder Colossus
Khaelthos Urnith moves like a mountain made animate: eight jointed legs the thickness of cathedral towers stride with the patience of tectonic plates. When it pauses, the air bends, small seas glass over with new ice, and entire forests quiet as if listening for the inevitable. Its carapace is pitted with fossilized ridges and slow-bleeding fissures that smell faintly of iron and old ash; those who see it know they're witnessing a force that could unravel the map itself.

Multiattack. The creature makes four attacks: two Crushing Limb attacks and two Chitin Lash attacks.
Crushing Limb. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 34 (4d12+10) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature and is hit by this attack, it must succeed on a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and crushed against the ground, taking an additional 18 (4d8) bludgeoning damage and restrained until the end of Khaelthos Urnith's next turn.
Chitin Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 40 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (3d8+9) slashing damage, and the target takes 11 (2d10) force damage as the lash snaps like a tectonic whip.
Continental Quake (Recharge 5–6). Khaelthos Urnith slams two of its legs into the ground. Each creature on the ground within 120 feet of Khaelthos must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 66 (12d10) bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone; on a successful save, it takes half damage and is not knocked prone. Structures and unattended objects in the area take maximum damage.
Rebound Carapace. When hit by a ranged weapon attack, Khaelthos can reduce the damage by 20 (3d12+5). If the attack deals damage reduced to 0, the attacker must succeed on a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be pushed 30 feet away and knocked prone as a ricocheted fragment slams into the ground.
The creature can take 3 legendary actions per round, choosing from the options below.
Move. Khaelthos moves up to half its walking speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Seismic Spire (Costs 2 Actions). Khaelthos causes a jagged stone spire to erupt from a point it can see within 60 feet. The spire fills a 5-foot square; creatures on that square must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw, taking 22 (4d10) piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. The spire remains as difficult terrain until smashed.
Terran Roar (Costs 3 Actions). A deafening rumble rolls out from Khaelthos. Each creature within 90 feet that can hear it must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of Khaelthos's next turn. A creature that succeeds is deafened for 1 minute.
Myth and sailors' cruelties both credit Khaelthos Urnith with ancient origins: some sages of the basalt-clad monastery at Varrin's Maw say it was birthed when a god's jaw fractured, its pieces becoming a thing that walked the world to test its seams. Others, such as the elementalist Xyr-Il of the Court of Tides, argue Khaelthos is a mutation of the planet's own marrow — a creature born of deep pressure, hunger, and age. Khaelthos is not mindless but indifferent on a scale mortals mistake for malice. It migrates across eons, leaving gouged plains and rearranged coastlines in its wake. Kingdoms record epochs when roads stopped where its shadow fell and islands rose where its legs stamped. The Cartographers' Collegium of Oln keeps a ritual chamber, the Orrery of Small Worlds, containing fragments of maps and a brass shard said to be flaked from Urnith's carapace — a relic many covet and few dare display. The boundary-wardens called the Stonefence Covenant hunt it in desperate centuries, only to realize their traps alter their own homelands instead.
Imagine a creature the size of a small country: eight legs like living obelisks jointed with dark chitin and veined with molten seams. Its body is an arcing, plateau-like carapace studded with spires and terraces of hard, fossilized armor; between plates run rivers of glowing mineral lodes and slow-weep vents that exhale steam. Where a head would be, there is a mass of grinding mandibles ringed by sensory fronds that unfurl like continental shelves. Texturally, the carapace is a mix of basaltous rock, leathery chitin, and mineral crust — the surfaces scarred by lichens, tiny trees, and nests of cliffborne birds. Scale reference: one of Khaelthos's lower leg segments should be roughly the height of a two-story building (12–15 ft.), with a human figure depicted near its base for size contrast. Environmental hints: the creature strides across a broken coastline, salt-sprayed cliffs and a ruined watchtower in the background; small tidal pools cling to its feet.
