Three-Note Kettle
the inn where every night ends in a song
Lantern light spills through latticed windows onto packed benches and a floor scuffed by dancing boots. The air is warm with steam, butter, and roasting herbs; a circle of villagers, merchants and traveling players cluster around a small raised platform where someone always plays. Laughter and the clatter of tankards weave with an ever-present, soft three-note refrain that seems to come from the hearth itself. When you step inside, a server slides past with a tray of peppery stew while a child tugs at your sleeve, begging you to join the next tune.
A weather-darkened iron pot hangs from a twisted beam; three punched holes form a musical staff and a single note; soot-blackened and humming faintly when the wind blows, no lettering

Stats
Kettle's Three
5 spA warm spiced punch brewed with cider, clove, and a splash of local brandy; it leaves a faint ringing in the ears for an hour that makes music sound richer and grants advantage on Performance checks to sing or play once while the ringing lasts.

Tobin Brill · barmaid
Quick with a mug and quicker with a grin; she knows everyone's favorite tale and knows when to shut a table up.
Hank 'Half-Notes' Gorren · cook
A burly man who seasons stew with ale and story—he insists every pot needs a hum while it simmers.
Daz · stablehand
A lanky youth who returns lost items from the yard in the morning—except one, a small carved flute he swears he never found.
Bessin Mire
An elderly fiddler who plays the first three notes every night and is oddly protective of Marta's hurdy-gurdy rumor.
Mayor Gethun Vell
The village mayor who drops in during festival season, scouting support for a harvest pageant and always asking about the orchard.
Rook the Miller
A gossip with flour on his coat who claims his mill once saw a lantern-lit procession disappear into the orchard at dawn.
1
A buried reliquary in the orchard east of the village once guided the harvest procession; an old map fragment was sold to a traveling porter named Kerran last winter.
2
Bessin Mire stopped a noble's hunting party from seizing a carved wooden box near the mill; she says whoever holds the box can 'call the orchard to sing.'
3
At dawn three years ago a lantern-lit procession entered the orchard and vanished; Rook the Miller keeps a dust-smudged lantern he says was left at the orchard gate.
