The Lanterncap Ledger
the mushroom bar beneath the stone lanes
You duck through a low stone arch and the stairwell exhales a cool, damp breath scented of loam and old ink. The bar's ceiling is a tangle of transplanted fungus—shelves of pale caps drip luminous sap that pools into glassware, bathing faces in an otherworldly teal and amber. Conversation is a soft, constant susurration: bargaining miners, scholars muttering over sketchbooks, and a few hooded patrons who keep to the benches in shadow. On the far wall a ledger spine—rings of shell and fungus—records tabs and curiosities in cramped, deliberate script; candles burn not with flame but with suspended, wavering spores.
A carved fungus cap pierced by a brass ring, its underside painted with phosphorescent lichen; the paint glows faintly and flakes where handprints have worn it smooth.

Stats
Lanterncap Flip
5 spA frothy mix of phosphorwine and spore-cordial that glows softly and steadies the hand; imbibers gain advantage on one Perception check involving dim light within the next hour but single-minded focus makes them slightly drowsy afterward (disadvantage on Dexterity checks for 10 minutes).

1
The Hollowed Cap: a sealed cavern beneath the Ledger is said to hold an 'inkwell' of living mycelium that writes in glowing spores—Bramli knows where the hidden seam is but won’t sell the map.
2
Glasscap Mine: a rival syndicate at the eastern shafts is trading in glassy mushroom shards that shatter minds; Professor Nema wants brave souls to retrieve an unbroken shard for study.
3
The Lantern Lanes Passage: Kass claims there’s a maintenance tunnel under the western sewer arch that leads to a forgotten statue that hums when the right fungus blooms—locals say it opens at midnight when the spores are brightest.
