What is the Pirate Tavern Generator?
This free pirate tavern generator makes a dockside dive or smugglers’ den from one sentence. You get the sign, a keeper with a personality, a quirk and a secret, staff and regulars (captains, smugglers, deckhands), a menu of rum, grog and stew with coin prices, rooms and rumours of wrecks and treasure, plus an illustration. No account is needed.

Pirate Tavern tips
A pirate tavern is a hiring hall, a black market and a rumour mill. Use it to start a nautical campaign: the party needs a ship, a crew or a map, and every one of those is drinking here tonight.
The rumours matter most. The generator writes three per tavern, and in a port at least one of them should lead to a wreck, a mutiny or a buried chest. Read them out as overheard conversation and let the players choose which to chase.
Most pirate taverns are poor or squalid, so the prices are low and the rooms are hammocks, but a pirate lord’s club can be aristocratic. Set the price tier to match.
Draw the room
The free map generator draws the tavern as a battlemap with a grid, for the brawl that is coming.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should a pirate tavern have?
A way to hire a crew, a way to sell stolen goods, a keeper who knows every captain, and rumours of wrecks and treasure. Danger helps: a brawl, a press gang or the watch at the door.
How do I start a nautical campaign in a tavern?
Put the party in a pirate tavern with something they need (a ship, a crew or a map) and three rumours that lead to sea. The generator writes the rumours for you.
Can I make a smugglers’ den instead?
Yes. Describe it, e.g. “a cave bar reached only at low tide”, and keep the vibe on seedy or dangerous. Change the setting to underground for a smugglers’ cave.
Is the pirate tavern generator free?
Yes. No account is needed, within a small daily allowance. Sign up free to keep generating and save taverns to your world.
