Razghul
Chain-Bound Appetite
Razghul is a gaunt, hunched revenant whose wrists are wrapped in rusted, broken manacles whose jagged links still bite into its flesh. Its eyes glow with a wet, phosphorescent hunger, and it moves with a disturbing, jerking grace like a puppet whose strings are torn. It favors lunging grabs and dragging victims into shadows, using its mangled chains to bind, tear, and feast upon the living — a creature that feels more like a lingering wound in the world than a beast.

Multiattack. The razghul makes two Claw attacks or one Claw attack and one Chain Lash.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8+3) slashing damage.
Chain Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6+3) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength check (contest of Athletics or Acrobatics) or be grappled (escape DC 13). While grappled in this way, the razghul deals an additional 3 (1d6) slashing damage at the start of each of its turns as it rakes the captive with its chains and claws.
Razghul are said to be the cursed refuse of grave-robbing bands or brutal slavers who died with chains still on their wrists. In some regions they rise where the earth remembers chains and cruelty: old slave pens, abandoned crossroads where bodies were unburied, or the edges of battlefields left unsanctified. Local shepherds in the sand-swept wastes of Qilmar whisper that a Razghul forms when a soul dies bound and burned with covetous hatred for the living. Scholars of the Mortuary Circle have catalogued sightings and speak of a pattern: Razghul haunt places of captivity and gather in slow packs to hunt in ruined cisterns and cistern-ruined towns. The archivist Ibrin Maru of Kest's Library preserved a ledger of encounters — his notes describe Razghul as patient ambushers that prefer to pull victims into confined shadows where their broken manacles can be used to drag and silence prey. Folktales warn that razghul hate iron blessed by priests and that chains reforged and consecrated can bind them briefly, though never for long.
Full-body, gaunt humanoid about the height of a lean human (roughly as tall as an average adult human). Skin is pallid, almost gray-brown, stretched tight over visible ribs and knotted muscles. The broken manacles are heavy, riveted iron whose flanges are jagged; several short lengths of crude chain trail from the wrists, ending in jagged hooks and warped spikes. The face is narrow with a long, scabbed mouth; the teeth are irregular and stained. Eyes are unnaturally bright — small orbs that seem wet and reflect light like oil. Limbs are slightly elongated; fingers end in blunt, dirty nails. Textures: flaky skin, scarred flesh around the manacles, pitted rust on metal, wet sheen in the eyes and mouth. Pose: hunched forward, one hand half-extended as if reaching to clasp a throat. Scale hints: include a crouching human figure beside it to show similar height; the creature leans lower and occupies less vertical space but feels denser. Environment hint: a ruined slave pen or broken wooden doorway with shadows pooling behind it.
