Ichorbind Sykel
Corpse-Sundered Colossus
A towering amalgam of stitched torsos, ribcages braided like rope and a jagged crystal pulsing where a sternum should be, the Ichorbind Sykel lumbers with a ponderous, patient malice. It swings a fused greatsword—legend calls it the Stirring Dragon's Wrath—whose strikes spit sparks of lingering flame; each blow rends flesh and seems to call the dead nearer. In battle the crystal at its heart thrums, sending out choking pulses of cold necrosis that leave friends and foes alike fumbling for breath. Few foes realize the creature is less a single corpse than a hungry machine of bone and gristle, animated to feed on violence and grown stronger for every life it unmans.

Multiattack. The Ichorbind Sykel makes two Stirring Dragon's Wrath attacks.
Stirring Dragon's Wrath. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6+4) slashing damage plus 4 (1d6+1) fire damage.
Chest Crystal Pulse (Recharge 5-6). The crystal embedded in the Sykel's chest unleashes a crushing wave of necrotic cold. Each creature in a 15-foot radius must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take 27 (6d8) necrotic damage and have its speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and suffers no speed reduction.
Vital Absorption. When a creature the Sykel can see within 5 feet drops to 0 HP, the Sykel uses its reaction to drain some of that life: it regains hit points equal to half the damage dealt by the attack or effect that reduced the creature to 0 (no more than the creature's missing hit points). If the fallen creature was undead, the Sykel regains hit points equal to the full amount instead.
Ichorbind Sykel are not born but assembled. Cults of grave-architects known as the Weavers of Keel pioneered the grisly craft centuries ago: stitching together the remains of warriors slain on a battlefield and binding them with a malformed reagent crystal — a shard of starstone corrupted by necromantic tempering. Early patrons sought guardians for cursed barrows and siege engines that could not tire; what emerged was an intelligence shaped by stitched memories and the crystal's slow hunger. The Weavers kept meticulous codices; one such volume, the Ledger of Broken Choirs, is now hoarded by the Harrowfen Ossuary where tombwarden priests both revere and fear Sykel constructs. Behaviorally, an Ichorbind Sykel behaves like a territorial predator that thinks in blunt, persistent cycles: patrol, hunt, absorb. It prefers broken battlefields, desecrated abbeys, and the lower crypts of ruined keeps — places where the dead and their weapons are plentiful. Local legends tell of a rival necromancer, Magister Rulven, who once tried to bind a Sykel to an army and failed; his notes survive in the university of Darskhelm, and they speak of a central truth: the crystal does not merely power the construct, it remembers. Each corpse added brings a shard of memory to the whole, and with enough additions an Ichorbind can mimic the tactics of those whose bones it bears.
Imagine a hulking humanoid silhouette standing nearly 10 to 12 feet tall. Its torso is a grotesque collage: overlapping rib cages sewn with blackened sinew, a dozen collarbones crisscrossing each other like the slats of a warped cage. The central chest cavity is occupied by a fist-sized, faceted crystal that shards light into bruised purples and greenish black (for an artist, depict it with heavy crosshatching to suggest inner glow). Its head is a conjoined cluster of skulls, some cracked, some with iron plates, fused off-center so one socket always seems to stare. Limbs are long and mismatched — one arm thicker with muscle and bone grafts, the other a leaner, spidery limb ending in a hand still wearing a rusted gauntlet. Tendons and dried veins run like rope between limbs. The Stirring Dragon's Wrath is a two-handed greatsword nearly as tall as a man, its blade hammered from scavenged metal and inlaid with small vein-like channels that appear to lead into the chest crystal. Surface textures: flaking skin, leathered hide, stitches of black sinew, and slick old blood; seams are rimmed with calcified grime. Scale: show a crouching human figure beside it (human reaches roughly to the creature's mid-thigh) or the creature filling a ruined chapel doorway.
