Murnk
Lost-Day Broker
Murnk is a quick-talking, grinning goblinoid fey who hawks impossible bargains from a battered satchel: coins that buy a stolen hour, buttons that barter away yesterday, ledger pages that swallow whole days. He smells of mildew and old clocks; when he closes a deal the light in a room seems to thin and the air tastes of iron. Parties who think of him as a novelty soon find whole chunks of time inexplicably absent, and the broker’s soft, merciless smile is the last thing they remember before the lost hours slip through their fingers.

Multiattack. Murnk makes two dagger attacks.
Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4+2) piercing damage.
Sell a Lost Day (Recharge 5-6). Murnk offers a tarnished coin and speaks in a coaxing, clocklike whisper. One creature of his choice that can hear him within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or take 7 (2d6) psychic damage and be incapacitated (unable to take actions or reactions) until the end of its next turn—effectively losing its next turn—and it cannot recall the period lost until it finishes a short rest. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and is not incapacitated.
Murnk surfaces in border towns and crossroads markets where time is thin—rail stations, ruined keeps, and places where tide and season misalign. Folktales say he was born from a clockmaker’s discarded regrets, or from a fox-faced fey who miscounted the moon. Traders and desperate lovers have made bargains with him for years: a day returned to a sick child, a forgotten debt erased, an hour stolen from a rival. The price is never coins alone; Murnk prefers exchange in moments and memories. Scholars of the uncanny, such as Archivist Halverin of the Guild of Sundialers, warn that Murnk keeps a ledger written in moved ink—pages that unspool time into his satchel. The broker is known to trade with the caravan clan called the Brakefamily and was once seen bargaining with a sea captain for two autumns. Murnk rarely works for free and fears only two things: places consecrated to strict calendrical rites (such as the Timekeepers' Shrines) and the sound of a bell rung exactly at midnight by someone who still remembers why it rang.
Murnk is slight and wiry, standing about 3 1/2 feet tall with a stoop that makes him half a head lower than a kneeling human child. His skin is a dull olive, thin over sharp bone; his ears are long and papery with ragged edges that curl like sundial gnomons. His eyes are the most striking feature—pupils that shimmer like layered clock hands and irises flecked with metallic gray, giving the impression of tiny spinning gears. He wears a patchwork waistcoat of faded brocades and pockets stitched shut with copper wire; around his neck hangs a string of flattened coins, each stamped with dates that never repeat. His satchel is scuffed leather overflowing with tiny glass vials, clipped calendar pages, a warped hourglass, and a slim, smudged ledger whose ink seems to move when ignored. His fingers are long, ink-stained, tipped with neat, soot-dark nails; he often toys with a small brass counter that ticks despite no visible mechanism.
