Keltun
Coastal Trawler
Keltun is a hulking, weather-gnarled fisherman who wades the shoreline at low tide, a living silhouette against overturned nets and scrapwood. He speaks little; his presence is announced by the creak of a patched harpoon pole and the clack of barnacled weights. Keltun harvests wreckage and unwary travelers alike, dragging victims toward cold pools where tide and teeth do the rest. He is as much a force of the shore as the sea-splayed rocks, relentless in his slow, patient stalking of the receding surf.

Multiattack. Keltun makes two attacks: one with his harpoon and one with his club.
Harpoon. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10+3) piercing damage. If the target is a creature Smaller than Keltun, it is not only hit but is also grappled (escape DC 13) as the harpoon lodges into clothing or flesh; while grappled in this way the target is restrained until freed or until Keltun releases it.
Club. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6+3) bludgeoning damage.
Thrown Net. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 5/15 ft., one Medium or smaller creature. Hit: The target is restrained by the net (escape DC 13). A net has no effect on creatures that are formless or creatures with a flying speed. A restrained target can use an Action to make a Strength check against the net's escape DC; on a success it frees itself and the net is destroyed.
Tide's Grasp (Recharge 5-6). Keltun slams his harpoon shaft into the wet sand. Each creature of his choice within 10 feet must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and pulled 5 feet closer to Keltun as the shifting tide and his practiced leverage tug them off balance. On a success, the creature is not moved but isn’t knocked prone.
Fishermen along the Gulf of Rask tell of Keltun as both omen and predator. Some say he was once a shorekeeper who bartered with a sea hag for an ever-full net; others insist he is a spirit born from the bones of drowned mariners. Coastal villages like Lornfen and the skiff-havens of Brelby keep a wary respect for the low tide when Keltun makes his rounds, leaving offerings of salted fish and rope so their nets remain untouched. Scholars of maritime lore, such as Haldrin of the Mariner's Folio, note that Keltun prefers wreckage and the weak: he scavenges flotsam, cuts locked ship's chests for trinkets, and pulls drifters into tide-filled gullies to feed. A small sect calling themselves the Linewards—ex-fisherfolk who attempt to guard coves—treat Keltun as both bane and guardian, for where he prowls fewer leviathans come close to shore. Legends claim a single cleric, Rhuven of the Salted Cross, once drove Keltun from a village for a season; the giant returned months later, more cunning and with a slower, more patient hunger.
Keltun stands slightly stooped, a broad-shouldered giant roughly twice the height of a human (about 12–14 feet tall), with cracked, sun-creased skin the color of wet driftwood. His hair is a ragged tangle of grey-green seaweed and salt-stiffened rope; a beard braided with shells hangs to his chest. He wears a patched leather smock made from sailcloth and kelp, studded with clamshells and bits of iron. His right forearm bears a brace of oiled leather threaded with netting; his hands are callused and scarred, with stunted nails like barnacles. Keltun's primary weapon is a long harpoon pole with a rusted iron head lashed to a timber shaft; a heavy club rimmed with lead weights hangs from his belt alongside a coil of rope and several waterlogged traps. The skin around his ankles is ringed with pale scars where barnacles once grew; small crabs and limpets cling to the folds of his garments. When depicted, show him waist-deep in receding surf, with overturned skiff and broken mast in the background to give scale—his harpoon almost as long as a cottage's doorway.
